Logo & Finish Guide
Embroidered vs. Printed Logos on Hotel Slippers
An embroidered logo is stitched into the fabric of the slipper, giving a raised, textured, premium finish that holds up to washing and wear. A printed logo is applied to the surface, which is cheaper for complex or multi-color artwork but sits flat and can fade over time. We embroider every pair, because it looks and feels like part of the slipper — not a sticker on top of it.
The short version
Both methods put your logo on the slipper. The difference is whether the logo is part of the fabric or sitting on top of it.
Embroidery stitches your logo directly into the material with thread. You can feel it. It reads as craftsmanship, and it wears the way the rest of the slipper does.
Printing lays your design onto the surface. It handles fine detail and many colors more easily and costs less per unit, but it sits flat and tends to show wear sooner.
For a hospitality amenity meant to feel considered, embroidery is almost always the right call — which is why it's what we do.
Embroidered logos
Embroidery is thread stitched into the fabric, guided by a digitized version of your logo.
What it does well
- A raised, textured finish you can feel — the mark of a premium product.
- Durability. Because the logo is stitched in, it wears with the slipper rather than peeling or cracking.
- A refined, tailored look that suits boutique hotels, resorts, and spas.
Where it has limits
- Very fine detail and small text can be harder to reproduce in thread than in print.
- Photographic images and large color gradients aren't suited to embroidery — it works best with clean logos and defined shapes.
- There's a one-time setup step to convert your logo into stitch-ready artwork (we include this).
Printed logos
Printing applies your design to the surface of the slipper.
What it does well
- Handles intricate detail, small text, gradients, and many colors more easily.
- Often lower cost per unit, especially at high volume.
- Reproduces complex artwork faithfully.
Where it has limits
- The logo sits flat on the surface rather than being part of the fabric.
- It can fade, crack, or wear with use and washing.
- It tends to read as less premium — closer to a promotional item than a considered amenity.
Which should you choose?
For most hotels, resorts, and spas, embroidery is the better fit — it looks and feels the part, and it lasts.
Printing makes more sense when your logo is highly detailed or photographic, when you're working to the lowest possible unit cost, or when the slipper is a short-use promotional item rather than a guest amenity you want to feel premium.
If you're not sure whether your logo suits embroidery, send it over. We'll tell you honestly how it will translate into thread before you commit to anything — and you'll see it on a physical stitched sample before production begins.
About the setup fee
Because embroidery is stitched, your logo first has to be "digitized" — converted into a file that tells the machine exactly how to stitch it. This is a one-time step per order, and we include it in a single $95 setup fee. After that, every pair in your order carries the same clean, consistent embroidery.
Frequently asked questions
Is embroidery or printing better for hotel slippers?
For most hotels, resorts, and spas, embroidery is better — it's stitched into the fabric for a premium, durable finish. Printing suits highly detailed or photographic logos and lowest-cost promotional use, but sits on the surface and can fade.
Will my logo work as embroidery?
Most clean logos with defined shapes embroider beautifully. Very fine detail, small text, or photographic images can be harder in thread. Send us your logo and we'll tell you honestly how it will translate, and you'll approve a physical stitched sample before production.
Why is there a setup fee for embroidery?
Embroidery requires digitizing your logo — converting it into stitch-ready artwork. That's a one-time step, included in a single $95 setup fee per order, not charged per pair.
Does embroidery cost more than printing?
It can, but not always. Our embroidered slippers are priced from $1.95 per pair, as low as $1.45 at higher volumes, with the digitization included in the one-time $95 setup fee.
Will the embroidered logo hold up to washing?
Yes. Because the logo is stitched into the fabric rather than applied on top, it wears with the slipper rather than peeling or cracking.
